Event Description

Spurs and Pearls is Peyton's Project annual fundraising event.  Each year this event highlights a unique songwriter from Nashville for well-known artists in the country music genre.  We are excited to announce this year's songwriter is TIM NICHOLS!

With nearly two dozen smash hits, multiple BMI songwriting awards, a Grammy for Best Country Song, as well as recently being a 2017 Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee, Tim Nichols has earned his place among Nashville's most elite and respected songwriters.  In 2004, Nichols co-wrote Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying," which stayed at #1 for ten consecutive weeks.  Other Nichols’ hits helped launch the careers of Jo Dee Messina, (Heads Carolina, Tails California) and Dustin Lynch, (Cowboys and Angels).  Chris Young stayed at the top of the charts for 3 weeks with the Nichols’ composition, “The Man I Want To Be.”  Nichols (in collaboration) penned, “I Got The Boy”, the Top 5 hit for Jana Kramer.  Nichols and Wiseman also wrote Faith Hill's "A Baby Changes Everything", a #1 hit on the Adult Contemporary charts in December 2008.  Two other of Nichols's songs have become Number One hits on the country charts: "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing" by Trace Adkins, and "Girls Lie Too" by Terri Clark.  Other artists who have recorded Nichols's material include Tracy Byrd, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless, David Kersh, Sammy Kershaw, Reba McEntire, Ronnie Milsap, Joe Nichols, Aaron Tippin, Keith Whitley, and many more.

The evening begins with a social hour complete with an open whiskey, wine and beer bar (beer graciously donated by Standard Sales).  Enjoy a rib dinner with all the fixins catered by Kerr Cattle Cooks.
